Sometimes It’s Better To Not Know

“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.  Each day has enough trouble of its own.”  Matthew 6:34

Yesterday we had a great visit with the cardiologist.  Like I described on Thursday, Charlie had what is called Patent Ductus Arteriosis (PDA).  This is VERY common.  When we got to the doctor, after a long medical history and some blood pressure and heartrate checks, we talked to the cardiologist.  He told us what he would be looking for on the echocardiogram.  He said he was looking for the PDA and for Patent Foramen Ovale.  Hmmm…I’ve never heard of this one.  It is a hole in the atrial septum between the two upper chambers of the heart.  Maybe I was told about this while he was in the hospital, but I REALLY don’t remember it. (which is a good thing because I know I would have constantly worried about him.)  This hole is also something that is supposed to close during birth, but didn’t on Charlie and had not after he was 10 weeks old.  Well, long story short, it is closed too!  I was so proud of Charlie for being so good during the echo.  It’s not easy keeping a baby still for the doctors to do an ultrasound of his heart!  Praise the Lord for good news. 🙂

Here’s a cute little video of the babies we took this morning.  Hope you enjoy!
