Making Memories

This is the sixth Christmas that Devin and I have been married.  The past five have looked a little like this:  about a week [or more 🙂 ] before Christmas, Devin and I exchanged our gifts; the weekend before Christmas we went to Patrick, SC to visit with Devin’s dad’s side of the family; the night of the 23rd was “Christmas Eve” with Devin’s parents and sisters (we spent the night there); the morning of the 24th was “Christmas Day” with the Hensons; the night of the 25th we went to the Christmas Eve service at church then to my parents’ house for our traditional cornish hen dinner then we spent the night; morning of the 25th was Christmas with my parents, sisters, and Justin; around 11 was breakfast at my mom’s parents’ house; then we headed to Charlotte to be with Devin’s mom’s side of the family; the weekend after Christmas we celebrate with my dad’s side of the family.  WHEW!  We are so incredibly blessed to have so much family…AC and Charlie have all of their grandparents and 7 of their 8 great-grandparents around.  With all that said, we can’t do all that running with them.  So, over the next several days, tune in to see all the adventures we do have this year.

Anna Claire and Charlie don’t really understand the holidays, but we are having fun.  We made a gingerbread house yesterday.  For those of you who know me well, when it comes to projects like this, I’m a little picky at how they are done.  Well, I let all of that go and we had fun.  Let’s just say that the first time they taste icing won’t be on their first birthday.

We hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

  1. Look at you, Kathy, letting them get all messy! I love the one with Anna Claire’s hand in the middle of the roof! Looks like fun!

  2. Love all the new post! When C learned to standup in her crib…it was the same day she landed in her clothes basket…she chewed the sides of her crib!! The teeth marks weren’t funny then but I am learning to like them!
