Thankful for Steroids

Ha!  I kind of chuckled as I typed the title for this post.  I didn’t think I would ever, especially at 11 months, be saying I was thankful for steroids for my son.  However, this little man has been fighting a cold for almost a month now.  It has completely been viral but he just hasn’t been able to get rid of it.  We took him back to the doctor Wednesday and he’s got a very common childhood illness…croup.  His poor little throat was so swollen the doctor was surprised he was eating anything.  He was coughing so much Wednesday night it made him throw up.  Needless to say, the doctor prescribed a steroid to help with his inflammed swollen throat and it has made a world of difference.  Our little man was so much happier today.  He drank a ton of pedialite and all his bottles.  He even ate 8 ounces before bed.  Praise the Lord!! Anna Claire is still her happy little self. 🙂

Anna Claire and Charlie love looking outside.  We can’t wait for it to get warmer!

It was a Saturday and Duke was playing.  Therefore, the boy and his daddy had to sport their Duke shorts.  Cutie! 🙂

Hmmm…what’s Anna Claire doing?  Well, she’s relaxing against the boppies and watching ‘Dora.’  So sweet! 🙂

Another prayer request/praise.  Anna Claire’s and Charlie’s Uncle Justin is in the Air Force and stationed in Texas.  He had his first ever solo flight this week.  Growing up I always liked the movie ‘Top Gun.’  Come to find out, so did Justin.  I think it is so cool and impressive that he is a pilot in the Air Force.  We’re so proud of him.  Please pray for him and my sister Rebekah.  It is so hard to be away from family but they are really making a difference where they are!

  1. We love y’all!! and are so happy little man Charlie is feeling better 🙂

  2. I’m glad Charlie is feeling better! 🙂

And for some reason I have a crazy feeling we will all be watching Dora for many years to come… 🙂

  3. Glad you are over the croup! Owen has had it like 3 times and every time it is SO scary! He’s had it so bad he was laboring to breathe so they had to give him breathing treatments at urgent care and sent us home with a nebulizer. We LOVE the steroids too – the only thing that helps them feel better! So sorry you had to deal with it – but glad Anna Claire didn’t catch it from him!
