Easter 2010

1When the Sabbath was over, Mary Magdalene, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought spices so that they might go to anoint Jesus’ body. 2Very early on the first day of the week, just after sunrise, they were on their way to the tomb 3and they asked each other, “Who will roll the stone away from the entrance of the tomb?”

4But when they looked up, they saw that the stone, which was very large, had been rolled away. 5As they entered the tomb, they saw a young man dressed in a white robe sitting on the right side, and they were alarmed.

6“Don’t be alarmed,” he said. “You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, who was crucified. He has risen! He is not here. See the place where they laid him. 7But go, tell his disciples and Peter, ‘He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.’ “ 8Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid. Mark 16:1-8

We ate Easter dinner with my parents’ Saturday.  Anna Claire and Charlie had so much fun…they played with a TON of shiny plastic eggs.  My parents will probably be finding them all over their house for the next week.  We went for a walk, ate good food (even bunny cake!), and got a bath in Granny and Papa’s big jacuzzi (these blocks they are playing with were my (and my sisters’)foam tub blocks!).

Sunday morning we saw what the Easter bunny brought.  Then we went to church and to Devin’s parents’ for lunch.  Anna Claire and Charlie had been there earlier that weekend and colored eggs with Aunt Spencer and Nana.  Sunday,  Anna Claire and Charlie tried something new…a ring pop.  They thought it was very yummy. I wish I had a better picture so you could see how much they really liked this sticky yet yummy candy.

I know that this is their second Easter, but last year they were still in the NICU.  Elizabeth had the great idea to take pictures of them in a basket with eggs and bunny outfits last year.  I love these pictures.  Well, this year we went to her house, ate lunch, colored eggs, hunted eggs, and took pictures by the same basket!  Look how much they have grown! 🙂
