The Beach and Sweet Sixteen

Our little ones are 16 months old today.  They bring so much joy to our lives every day.  We took them to the doctor last week for their 15 month check-up…I know…almost a month late.  Anyways, all was great!  She is 17lbs 9oz and he is 21lbs 4oz (that’s at 15 months and 3 weeks).  She’s not on the chart for percentiles for her weight and he is the 5th percentile for boys. (The growth curve is different for boys and girls.)  She is 28 inches (not on the chart)and he is 31 inches tall (25th percentile!).  They are doing so much!  Anna Claire IS WALKING!!  I mean really walking all over the place.  She’s talking a ton (must have gotten that from her daddy!  Just kidding!).  She still loves to read, likes playing with puzzles, her baby, and sleeping with her lovey.  Charlie loves balls (this will be a post in itself), cars, and outside. He likes his golf clubs and gets so excited to play chase with Daddy.   They both love animals and are really good at making the sounds of monkeys, elephants, snakes, cows, horses, alligators (they clap their hands and try to say ‘snap!’), and make a fish face.  Their favorite songs (which they know motions to all of them) are ‘The Itsy Bitsy Spider’, ‘The Wheels on the Bus’, ‘If You’re Happy and You Know It’, and ‘This Little Light of Mine’.  I’m so in love!

Last weekend Rebekah and Justin flew into Charleston and we got to spend a couple days with them, my parents, Melanie, and the Brazells.  This was Anna Claire’s and Charlie’s first trip to the beach.  Last summer they were still on their apnea monitors so we didn’t take them.  Anna Claire liked playing in the sand and walking along the edge of the water if someone was holding her.  Charlie wasn’t too sure about the whole experience.  It was pretty windy.  I think we’re going to take them back soon on a Friday when Devin doesn’t work.  Here are a few pictures from our trip.

She fell asleep before dinner. They loved looking out the window at the restaurant waving at people. “Ball?”  Everything round is a ball to this boy. Can you see the excitement in his face about the horse? I love Aunt Bekah! Our family. In the water with Daddy. Building a sandcastle with Granny. Sweet time with Uncle Justin. We’re so glad we got to see them!!

  1. Love those precious babies! We are taking C to the beach next Friday! We didn’t take her last year either. I was too nervous about taking a newborn to the beach. Looks like you all had fun, fun, fun! Love you guys!
