C’s Surgery

Our sweet boy had to have his tonsils and adenoids removed and a lymph node biopsied in December. The surgery went well and he has recovered well! (But I tell you what! Day 4, 5, and 6 were rough! Poor boy’s throat hurt so bad especially at night and when he woke up in the mornings.) Thank you so much to our family and friends who visited, called, texted, prayed, sent cards in the mail, gave pudding, jello, icecream, popsicles, Sonic slushies, apple juice, movies, coloring books/crafts, and even handmade cards from all his classmates at school. Love you all! img_0105img_0107img_0109img_0111img_0112img_0116img_0155While Charlie was recovering, AC and Devin went to Charleston for the day. They visited College of Charleston, went to the aquarium, and then met up with the Hensons for dinner to celebrate Mrs. Amy’s birthday and then went to James Island to see all the Christmas lights. They had a wonderful day! img_0172img_0147Charlie-man and I had a good day too. We played games, rested, watched movies, went for a walk, and then went out to look at lights around Lexington. He still wasn’t feeling like eating much, but a milkshake from Chick-fil-A was pretty nice. 🙂 img_0146img_0139John and Mary…our silly elves…were pretty funny this year. Here are some more of the fun things we found them doing each day. fullsizerender-1We love visiting our friends at Oakleaf each month. Last month, the Broadwells joined us. The made chocolate chip and sugar cookies and we made goodie bags and brought christmas napkins to pass out to all the residents. The kids sang songs with Aunt Spencer and read the story of Jesus’s birth. fullsizerenderLast but not least, I LOVE all of the handmade crafts and ornaments I have saved over the years that the kids made. I have so many of those decorations all over the house. I bought this little tree this year to display some they have made. 🙂 Makes me so happy. They will be my age and I’ll still be putting them out each year. img_0121
