Playing in the Rain

I know that this might have not been the smartest thing to do…considering it was thundering a little, but these little ones had a blast.  Here’s kind of how our time outside tonight played out…

“Woo Hoo!  This is like the sprinkler.” “What’s this?  Oh, a puddle.” “Yeah Mom.  The rain will do these flowers some good.”  “I’m not so sure about this rain.”  “Look!  My hands are wet!”  “I love the rain!”  “Oh my!  It’s really comin’ down now.”  “Daddy, can we PLEASE play golf when the rain stops?”  “Oh no!  My hair is getting wet!”  “Mommy, I think I need to change my clothes.”  “OK.  I’m done.  Can we go inside now?”

As you can see, the rain was quite fun for us tonight. 🙂

Our Daddy

We may be a little partial, but we have the best daddy in the world!!!  We spent a great Father’s day weekend playing with him.  We also got to spend some time with our Grandpa and Papa.  We are two lucky kiddos!

This picture is with Daddy after church on Father’s Day.This picture is of our nightly story time.

Vacation Bible School

This week my friend Melissa and I taught 1st grade VBS at our church.  Keep in mind that I teach high school/college age people.  However, I had a blast.  We had the best bunch of kiddos.  They learned so much about God’s Word, made great crafts, sang fun songs, and were fun and super competitive at recreation.  We had two great teenagers help us!  So fun! (I’m also thankful for all the people out there who teach elementary school.  🙂 ) Anna Claire and Charlie had a blast with their friends at VBS this week too!  They were loved on so much in the nursery.  Here are two pictures one of the moms took of them.

It’s been a little warm here to say the least.  So what better way to enjoy a Friday evening that outside with a popsicle?

The little pleasures of summer.  🙂

A Tropical Birthday

Each year the NICU holds a party for the NICU grads.  Last year we were in the hospital when they had it so this is our first year to be invited.  We got to see four other families who were there when we were and five nurses who worked with our little ones.  It was AMAZING to see the progress these children have made.  Charlie went ‘fishing’ for candy. Anna Claire wanted to climb the stairs.  The little girl climbing beside her is a twin who was in our same room.

I know I’m 4 days late, but Anna Claire and Charlie are 15 months old now!  Charlie is walking all over the place.  He has five (almost 7) teeth and is wearing size 12 month clothes.  He can finally say ‘mama’ which makes me SO happy!! (she can as well!) He has the sweetest voice.  He is doing incredibly well with his sign language too.  Anna Claire isn’t walking well yet (that’s a post in itself!) but she can get wherever she wants by crawling super fast or walking with a push toy.  She has 3 teeth with several more on the way.  She is wearing size 9 month clothes.  She is awesome at repeating things.  Not that we say bad things, but we have to watch what we say in case she repeats it.  She has become attached to her ‘lovey.’  I’ll post a picture of that later.  We will go in two weeks for their 15 month check-up, so I’ll let you know stats then.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my first full week off of school.  We have been shopping, to the park, library, swimming twice, played outside, been to therapy, and so much more.  I’ve been a pretty crummy blogger recently, so stay tuned for blogs about swimming, Daddy sharing his hobbies, cooking, and much more.

Thank You Mrs. Kim

God definitely puts people in our lives for reasons.  When I had to go back to work in August, my dear friend’s mom agreed to keep Anna Claire and Charlie two days a week for us.  What a blessing!!  We are SO incredibly thankful for all she has done.  She takes them to the zoo, park, library, Target 🙂 , to play with Sarah Ann, on walks, makes holiday crafts, sings with them, reads to them, watches Dora and Diego, feeds them breakfast and lunch…the list could go on.  Today is her last ‘official’ day watching them.  However I’m sure we will see LOTS of her this summer (since her two grandbabies live down the street!).  We love you Mrs. Kim!!
